Don’t you just adore a love story of two high school sweethearts who tie the knot after navigating long distance and the transformative years of college? Brenna and Jack’s love story is very similar to my own in that way, which is why I was so excited to have them as one of my couples. On November 29, 2024, Brenna and Jack became Mr. & Mrs. Angus in a beautiful ceremony at The French Farmhouse Venue, brought together by Jenna from Gathered Events DFW wedding planning. Their wedding day was the perfect reflection of their beautiful love story of over 8 years.
The details from the Angus wedding have to be some of my favorite detail shots I have ever taken. One of my favorite details from The French Farmhouse’s reception space is the stunning fireplace and mantle. It creates the perfect cozy Texas farmhouse feel while also being modern and elegant. The white walls and plentiful windows make the space so bright with the perfect lighting for details.
The florals, by Bloomfield Floral Denton were the perfect delicate touch to elevate the space while keeping a classic and simple look. You can never go wrong with white florals to keep a classy and sophisticated look!
There is no part of girlhood that is more special than having your best friends and most important women in your life be there to support you on your wedding day. Brenna and her girls shared so many laughs and happy tears as they got ready to see their best friend marry the love of her life. Her mother and sister did the honor of buttoning her dress and putting her veil on; the finishing touches to becoming a bride.
Brenna was the ultimate bridal barbie!! The hair and makeup team from Tease to Please HAMU from Richardson, Texas, did such an amazing job and their work photographed beautifully.
After the couple’s first look, they shared private vows together. As a wedding photographer, I am a huge fan of private vows. It allows the couple to ease their ceremony nerves and share their vows in a more intimate setting. I see a lot more emotion from couples who do private vows because they don’t have to worry about public speaking nerves either & it makes for a very special moment shared only between the couple. On your wedding day, it is super important to intentionally create moments only for you and your spouse since it is hard to come by when you are surrounded by your loved ones.
The chapel at The French Farmhouse venue is such a gorgeous space to tie the knot with cathedral ceilings and large windows that let in a ton of natural light! The chapel has an interior balcony which was PERFECT for this first kiss shot by my second shooter Cassy.
After their ceremony, we took some golden hour portraits before heading into the reception. The newlyweds shared a sweet first dance before getting down on the dance floor with their guests! After dancing the night away to celebrate their marriage, Brenna and Jack shared one final private dance together before starting their new chapter as a married couple. Of course, I had to head to the interior balcony on the reception space to get this precious shot of their private last dance.
